What if we shift the way we think about gift giving?

Let’s Get Creative

Instead of buying each other more STUFF, what if we exchange special 3”x 5”index cards filled with things like poems, recipes, fun memories, photos, doodles, or just reasons you love someone. It’s all about sharing something personal and meaningful.

As we exchange cards over the years, we’ll collect memories of past birthdays and holidays. On days we a little pick-me-up or inspiration, we’ll have our deck of cards to brighten our day.

Let’s Give

Instead of spending money on gifts, let’s donate what we would have spent to a charity in honor of the recipient. It’s a simple, thoughtful way to make a difference in lives that need it most.

Card making tips

Find some 3”x 5” index cards, or make your own
Give just one card or give a dozen. There are no rules here.

Name and date
Don’t forget to add your name and the date to each card.

Get creative & make it personal
Write a special memory, favorite poem, recipe, doodle, photo, or simply tell them what you love about them.

Don’t overthink It
Sometimes a little goes a long way. A simple, heartfelt message can be super meaningful.

Share which charity you donated to
Make a card that mentions which charity their gift helped support.

Mention the Mindful Gifting Project
Include a quick note and share the website mindfulgifting.org—so more people get inspired to change the way they give.
